"Intorducing young children to proper use of a palette is easy, and as they gain exprience with mixing colours, proper washing and drying of the brush, as they approach 4 or 5 their paintings become more complex and detailed with many shadings. I usually start children off with one colour and black and white paints as we exlore mixing shades of a colour, we work through the three primary colours and then I add a secondary colour and so forth. ",

"No light table? Here, I added a long white piece of mural paper to the table along with the glass stones. It helped the colours to pop, defines the play space for new children so beads were not thrown around the room, and allows for a large area for expression. Here the little girl told a story about what a plant needs to grow with her stones...the blue stones in what is the stem represented the rain coming up the stem, the rainbow comes out afer the rain when the sun shines of the flowers.",
